The host Katina Makris healed from being bed ridden with neurological Lyme disease. The show provides inspiring dialogue and education to dispel the confusion, disparity, and lack of information on Lyme disease, associated co-infections and the auto-immune style conditions misdiagnosed. Topics include among others, prevention, diagnostics, and acute care.
This is the personal website of Dr. Richard Horowitz, renowned Lyme disease specialist and doctor, and author of Why Can't I Get Better: Solving the Mystery of Lyme and Chronic Disease. Highly recommend his book. Also, Dr. Horowitz's site has informative articles and podcast recordings.
Kelly Howell offers beautifully guided meditation for healing and well being. She uses binaural beats in the background to relax your mind and body. I love this healing meditation. It makes me feel calm, centered, and alive after listening to it. Great feelings to facilitate healing!
Fragrant Heart is one of the most calming and accessible websites for free guided meditations. The meditations are guided by Elizabeth Blakey who has a grounded, loving voice and presence. There are tens of free audio meditations on the site organized by themes and challenges/desires. I recommend the Deep Healing & Relaxation Meditation.
With 80% of our immune system being located in our intestines, our digestive health directly impacts our capacity to heal from LD. When my healing was slow, I learned from Dr. Large, Jessica Flannigan, and Dr. Grieder that I had Leaky Gut, which causes chronic inflammation and malabsorption of nutrients. I then did a prescribed elimination diet. My healing took off. Since then, I've been on a low-FODMAPs diet. The link here is Dr. Sue Shepard's site. She developed the low FODMAP's diet in 1999.
Lilou Mace TV has kept my spirits high through my three and a half years of healing. Lilou interviews conscious teachers around the world on profound topics like Love, Evolution, Healing and Spirituality. She also has my secret dream career.
This trail restored my comfort and trust in nature. When I was first diagnosed, I stopped hiking and even walking near grass out of fear that ticks would quest and bite me. TVT is a blessing. It's a wide, cleared, well maintained trail through lowlands valley that opens up to a majestic view of the Pacific. There's parking and bathrooms. It's like training wheels to get back onto longer trails on Mt. Tam and the Bay area's other gorgeous woodlands and forests.
Gabby Yates is a wise woman and patient, gifted Iyengar Yoga teacher. Gabby teaches in San Francisco as well as leads retreats in Italy. She's a global peacekeeper by training and carries the presence and compassion she gained through that into the class. Gabby has helped me to come home into my body and to trust my strength again.
Taking photos of street art, urban flora and landscapes brings me such joy. I like to post them on Instagram because it has cool filters and is a fun way to connect with friends and people. Anytime LD brought me down, if I could go outside, even onto our balcony, and take a photo, I instantly felt better. LD can't take your joy unless you let it. Do what brings you joy and lightness follows!
